Virgin Mary Unnoticed, Censored

Terracotta on Cobblestone 3 in x 3.75 in Mosaic inspired by Caravaggio's Death of the Virgin Mary, a piece censored by the church. Morse code within the piece reads Born of (the) BVM (Blessed Virgin Mary) in unconditional love. Mosaic tiles were inlaid upon a cobblestone from the Vatican. In respect to Italian culture and laws, the cobblestone was cleaned and returned to its original location. Original mosaic shards are displayed.
